Dusky Daiquiri from Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en Kicks Off National Barbecue Month!

Dusky Daiquiri

2 oz dark Jamaica rum
1/2 oz orchard cherry liqueur
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
3 dashes of orange bitters

Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass and get ready to fire up the grill!

 

 

Mai Tai BBQ Glaze from Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en Kicks Off National Barbecue Month!

Mai Tai BBQ Glaze

1/4 cup orange preserves sweetened only with juice
1/8 tsp almond extract
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 oz dark Jamaica rum
A few dashes of aromatic bitters

Season your meat (or whatever you're barbecueing) with salt and pepper. Brush with glaze and continue brushing occasionally as it cooks. For extra sauce, make another batch and microwave for 30 seconds, adding a little hot sauce if you like. Is there anything a Mai Tai can't improve?
